Saudi Family Visit Visa: Photo Preparation for Residents

Sources checked: 2026-10-27

Inviting family to Saudi Arabia involves more than preparing a photo. The resident's visit request and the visitor's visa application are different steps. First open the official service for your route, then prepare a photo only if that step asks for one.

Start with the official family visit request

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs describes its Family Visit Request service as a way for residents to request visits for first-degree relatives, including parents, a spouse and children. Its published instructions direct applicants to the visa services platform and describe employer or Chamber of Commerce authentication.

Check eligibility and the current steps on the official page. Aalejha does not submit applications, authenticate requests, issue visas or decide eligibility.

There is no photo size on this public service page

The MOFA page linked below does not publish a technical photo specification. That is not evidence that every later application step has no photo requirement. It means we cannot use this page to prescribe one universal pixel size, file limit or background setting.

Do not copy a tourist visa, passport or National ID preset simply because it looks similar. If a visitor's application or appointment checklist asks for a photo, use the instructions for that exact application.

Before you prepare or upload a photo

  • Confirm whose photo is requested: the visitor's or the resident's.
  • Record the accepted format, width and height, file limit and background rule from the actual upload field.
  • Check whether the authority allows editing; if it requires an unedited studio photo, retake it rather than altering it.
  • Use the original camera file rather than a screenshot or an image repeatedly shared through messaging apps.
  • Keep the original and inspect the final file for natural skin colour, clear eyes and clean edges.

When Aalejha can help

If the receiving authority permits processing, our paid image tools can help with a required background or file adjustment. Use the family visit photo guide below to review the scope before choosing a tool. Do not buy image processing solely to satisfy a photo requirement that your application has not shown.

Processing cannot correct an ineligible application or guarantee visa approval. If an upload fails, retain the exact error text and your Aalejha order reference so our support team can investigate the image problem.

Frequently asked questions

Is 200 × 200 pixels the required family visit visa photo size?

The MOFA Family Visit Request page does not establish that size. Follow the instructions in the visitor's actual application rather than assuming that a general Saudi visa preset applies.

Does Aalejha apply for the family visit visa?

No. Aalejha provides image and file processing, not visa applications, authentication or approval.

Can I change the background of any visa photo?

Only if the receiving authority permits editing. Where an unedited photograph is required, take a new photograph that meets the instructions instead.
